In Slovenia the European elections will take place on 26 May 2019. Every Slovenian or other EU citizens, having permanent residence in Slovenia and aged 18 or over can cast a vote. It is also possible to vote abroad if certain conditions are met.

Yes, in Slovenia it is possible to vote by post for:
Postal voting has to be requested from the local electoral commission or the constituency electoral commission ten days before election day. Electoral commissions takes into account only the postal votes that were posted in Slovenia and received by noon on the day following election day.
People with disabilities can vote by post once or permanently.
voting at home, for voters unable to vote in person due to an illness, provided they inform the local election commission three days before election day.

Under EU law, all countries must use voting systems that ensure proportional representation, which means that the number of elected members from each party depends on the share of electoral votes obtained by the party.
Slovenia uses preferential voting, which gives the voters the option to indicate their preferences within the party list they choose. Candidates who receive the most preferences are more likely to be elected.
